It's all in your head! Most of us have heard this all our lives, usually implying that we're worrying too much. The truth is, those thoughts, or our self-talk, have tremendous power over our lives! After all, Faith; the hope for things we can’t see, through God's Grace, is what saves us! So, what we do with whatever we allow, or disallow in our minds, has everything to do with who we are, and what we become!
When Paul describes the Armor of God for the believer, he speaks of the helmet of salvation. This helmet is the protection of knowledge that we are safely in God's Hands. Mixed with our faith, this knowledge prevents the accusations and temptations of the evil one from taking root in our minds! In the Book of Proverbs, we're told that the evil folks are as they think they are! How much more the man living in the Spirit and image of God!
Satan has many weapons in his efforts to pull us away from God's intended purpose for us, but some of the most effective are the weird, or wicked thoughts, that just seem to pop into our minds, out of nowhere! These are not random, and most importantly, they are not sin on our part but mere temptations. When these unkind thoughts, or ungodly temptations come, it’s vital to recognize that they are fiery darts from the devil. Tell God you don't welcome it in your heart, then begin to intercede for someone else! Now, rather than being beaten by the devil, you're engaged in spiritual warfare!
Yes, it's all in your head, so be very aware of what gets in there! Keep your helmet on and make sure your heart is filled with the Word of God. It's the Sword the devil cannot resist!

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
~Ephesians 6:17 KJV
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
~Hebrews 4:12 KJV
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, That I might not sin against thee.
~Psalm 119:11 KJV
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
~Genesis 4:7 KJV
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
~Isaiah 26:3 KJV
Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, Neither desire thou his dainty meats: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; But his heart is not with thee.
~Proverbs 23:6-7 KJV
I wouldn't say head though. I will say its the heart i.e., the soul which comprise of mind, emotions, feelings etc.
This is the reason why we have been given this word-
Proverbs 4:23

for everything you do flows from it.
