There's a lot of hype and chatter about blessings and favor among God's children, and among His seekers, but there's just as much misinformation about what those blessings look like, and the earmarks of His favor. The disciples of today, even as it was with the first 12, must remember: Favor, was having been called in the first place, and to be blessed, is being strengthened to endure the journey and reach the Destination!
Our flesh naturally defaults to natural existence over and over again, even though we are called to die to the natural life and live in the spirit. Nothing of the natural world benefits our new existence! Our blessings cannot be garnered from among the toxins that once almost destroyed us. Rather, the disciple's blessings are the ability to see and break free from such temporary distractions!
We must accept and cling to the Truth that anything I can put my hands on here in this fallen world is suspect at best, and deceptively poisonous at worst. How can we tell what's good from what's bad? By reigning in our eyes!
The devil is an illusionist, always tantalizing our senses. It's simple really, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the Light of His glory and grace.” *
