HOPELESSLY LOST!

"We have but One Purpose here, our mandate & commission!"

We often hear of someone “hitting bottom” – then reaching up to God. That’s a good thing, as Jesus is known as “Savior!” The problem is, many don’t understand that the Gospel is found in “Complete Surrender!” Much like a war between nations, anything short of surrender nullifies the ceasefire. By nature we want help, but only back to our feet.

The enemy of our souls is very clever, and he knows the arrogant lusts of man… every man! It’s the same lusts that drive you and me to worldly success, and ultimately to death. The Life for which we were originally created has been corrupted through an inborn soul of rebellion. But on the other side of this existence operates “The Spirit Realm!” The realm where we find authority, purpose, and dominion over this old life. The world “creates” shinier, faster, and sweeter things to keep that gnawing hunger for God within us sedated! Our lives, by default seek their worth in accumulation and achievement. Noble enough goals for here, but useless in the Spirit realm. And, their possession is limited to our time here on earth.

The contradiction of these two planes is exacerbated by the author of confusion, Satan himself. He’s not an old, ugly troublemaker who stalks us when we’re down, no, the Bible teaches us he is disguised as an “angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14b) As disciples, we must realize the master of deception maximizes on subtlety. For instance, he won’t so much tempt us to sin, as he will encourage us to do something good…rather than what we know is right.

The Hopelessly Lost man isn’t limited to the abuser, or the drunk. They usually know they are lost. The Hopelessly Lost soul is the one who’s been blessed with so many of the world’s delights that he can’t even feel the need for, nor gratitude toward, His God. This man has been “fattened up” – not blessed by God! His carnal wealth, being credited to God, draws other hungry souls toward his toxic, frigid religion. But even the Hopelessly Lost aren’t hopeless in Christ!

See to it, child of God, that your treasures are secured in heaven. There’s nothing here for us, except…The HOPELESSLY LOST!
