Jesus pointed out that His Father caused good things to happen to bad people, as well as good. God created all things for His pleasure, and it’s not His pleasure to inflict pain and hardship.
Some people make little, if any acknowledgement of God, and yet seem to truly enjoy a life of happiness and abundance, while others who sincerely fear the LORD seem to struggle with unexplainable hardships and need. This Truth has caused as much discontent and confusion as any subject involving Christianity.
Jesus pointed out that the Father loves to show His goodness. We must understand, the better things in life aren’t material! The children of Israel were our first clear examples. After years as slaves, when God freed them, He did not catapult them into wealth, power, and ease, but rather into the wilderness as vagabonds! He desired to introduce them to the depths of knowing Him as their God! They didn’t get it, and sadly we still don’t today, some 2,000 years this side of Messiah!
Sure, we see lost, godless people enjoying life. God is sometimes lavishing His lovingkindness on them in the physical, that they might look up to Him in gratitude, and reach up to Him, showing them the difference between the temporal gift, and the eternal Giver! On the other hand, He may impoverish those that would otherwise worship the finer things of this life, that they be driven directly into the abundant life of Peace, Love, and Joy, found only in the riches of His Holy Spirit.
We, Christians, still find ourselves confusing the economies of heaven and earth! It doesn’t help matters that the devil not only markets his economy to the church, but also pays fat commissions to the church leaders he can persuade to “pitch his blessings” for him!
We are spiritual! We have been born again and have denied the old life. May we, the sons and daughters of God, abandon our affinity to the worldly truffles we’re being fed! They’re not coming from the Father, if they are not directly tied to the Gospel! No, they are rather weighing us down.
Let us lay all that aside, walk away from the life of sin, and focus on the things our physical eyes can’t see. We’re already rich!

For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
~2 Corinthians 4:18b KJV
Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us
~Hebrews 12:1b KJV
He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
~Matthew 5:45 KJV
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
~Matthew 6:26 KJV
Amen. He is working all things out for my good. I'm so thankful to not be striving to please the world and myself anymore.
To be successful; what does that mean? My life belongs to my Creator and I strive to be more like Jesus everyday. That's being successful. ❤️
Yes, brother, we are already rich. Amen!
G-D Bless, you.
