SEEK YE FIRST
"When You called…, my heart came running!"
We often hear the encouragement to "Seek the LORD." Sometimes, that can sound like "Christian talk," poised rhetoric, demonstrating the depth of our own dedication to God. The simplicity alone, in the thought of "seeking God," should bring pause to any believer. But if I have God, why should I seek God!
We're told the angels cry, day and night, "Holy, Holy, Holy!" How is it that through all eternity, the overwhelming presence of God still, and continually, compels even the angels to cry, "HOLY!" Could there be more, far more, to the unknown Glory of the Creator, than our rebellious, carnal minds care to imagine? The Proverbs say, the knowledge of holiness is key to understanding, and Paul declared that the excellencies of "knowing Him," far surpassed any and everything that man could ever attain!
Truth reveals that the Glory of God is utterly infinite, and there is no comprehension of His fullness. By His design, searching Him out always produces a Fruit more satisfying to the soul than the richest of things below could ever produce for our flesh! A concept incomprehensible to the carnal mind, and only, yet certainly, realized in the Spirit - by Faith!
The worshipful heart of the psalmist cried, "When You called…, my heart came running!" Paul prayed for young seekers to experience a "revelation of the knowledge of God!" “Sweeter than honey, and more precious than much fine gold,” said the psalmist!
"Today, Oh LORD, turn and soften my hardened heart! Open my blinded eyes to see the sinister bait being flaunted before me, to distract from Your reality. You alone are worthy of my thoughts, my songs, my words, and all my time! I will seek Your face my God. “Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more!"
