THE FATHER’S WILL
“That all should come to repentance.”
What is my “duty” as a Christian? We’re taught that ultimately our purpose is to bring Christ glory, and we know Christ commanded us to go, preach the Gospel, and make disciples. So, if we “boiled that down,” what would be the duty of the converted believer? First, let’s look at effectively “preaching the Gospel and making disciples.”
Many of us have lived through eras, and some may still be in denominations that encourage “door to door witnessing” and street corner preaching. Both can be very uncomfortable and create guilt for young or bashful believers who sincerely want to do good. Both practices have also undoubtedly won a lot of souls into the Kingdom, but is there another way? Possibly even better, more efficient way?
Jesus said even those who performed signs, prophesied, and exorcised demons, would be cast out if they do not do “The Will of His Father!” Peter tells us it’s the Lord’s will “that all should come to repentance.” So, if we can learn to walk in, and do the Father’s will, we’ll not only find acceptance with Jesus on that Day, but we’ll also, naturally draw others into the Gospel with our Witness unto Christ!
Devoted disciple, as we walk, ever seeking to dwell in the “Secret Place” of Psalm 91, we will, by design, begin to stand out from natural men. As we find our own hearts, full of the Joy of Christ, especially through difficulties and hardships, we naturally begin to recognize that the difficulties cause these “Treasures of Joy” within us, to spill over into the dry paths of those around us. Some will be offended, others, praise the Lord, will seek the Source of that Living Water that your trials caused to “splash over” on them! Voila, you just witnessed! You have filled the great commission and thereby have fulfilled The Father’s Will!

Amen and Amen!! 1 Peter 3:15 tells us to be "ready to make a defence" to everone who "asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you..." May I suggest we live our lives in such a way that it gives them a reason to ask!!!
