"Rightly navigating the Narrow Path"
To experience the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit of Christ, I must first accept the reality of His presence in me, by faith, then take appropriate care not to grieve Him, lest I diminish my spiritual ability to discern His presence. I would not invite the Holy Spirit to watch Tom Petty in concert with me, or to spend 3 hours watching football. The list of our carnal pleasures, and sensual indulgences, goes on and on, but the point is: the rich presence of Holy God will not be subjected to the wicked entertainments, and spiritual diversions of His fallen angels. "For Him Who Cares to Hear."
The impact made on my life by the repeated, and continual indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and His effectiveness at conforming me to the image of Christ, is in direct proportion to my submission to His presence. Jesus assures us that the Father delights in giving the Holy Spirit to us, so we know we receive Him when we invite Him into our hearts and lives, yet we forget the imagery of the still small voice Elijah spoke of, and how we tend to grieve Him when He is present.
"Teach me O LORD:
*To consciously surrender my will, quieting my carnal nature as I present my body, and invite the Holy Spirit to live through me.
*To yield, that I may emulate Your likeness, serving, suffering, living, and dying in my earthen vessel as Christ did.
*To experience the Glory of the Comfort, the Tutoring, the Love, and the Joy that comes with Your presence living in me.
*That I may show a lost and dying world, the attainable Hope of Your Glory, here and now: You are living in me!"

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
~ Colossians 1:27
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
~Luke 11:13
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
~Ephesians 4:30
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service..
~Romans 12:1 KJV

Amen 🙏 thank you
Thanks Terry - a good reminder!
Your reference to taking the Holy Spirit to a Tom Petty concert made me laugh. That might be interesting since Tom Petty has been dead for several years...
